Ottawa Food Bank's Food Drive

The Rockcliffe Flying Club is supporting the Ottawa Food Bank's Holiday Food Drive this Christmas season. "From the bowl of cereal that fills a child’s stomach and the can of soup that nourishes an elderly person, to the hot lunch that sustains the person working hard at finding employment. It’s these varied stories that make what we do so rewarding." Ottawa Food Bank We have placed a food "Drop Box" at the front entrance if you would like to bring a food donation when you drop by the Club. We have also placed a money donation box at the dispatch desk and one in the lounge. Most-needed food items: Canned fish, meats & stews, peanut butter, jam, macaroni & cheese , tomato sauce, canned vegetables…

The A380 is BIG!

The A380 is also very sophisticated. On Thursday, December 12 at 1830, RFC members will have an opportunity to learn about the A380 (from a fellow RFC member) who flew this remarkable aircraft!

ROCKCLIFFE FLYING CLUB OWNERSHIP FORUM On Sunday, November 17, 12:30 to 14:30 the RFC will be holding an ownership forum at the club. There will be a panel of experts to answer any questions you may have. The panel will include: Simon Garrett (CFI, General Manager), Jean Rene de Cotret (senior instructor), Belinda Bryce, Magnes Group (insurance), Pat Guinta (maintenance), and a few private aircraft owners. Our unique IFR ground school is starting a new session on December 5th 2013. Why is it unique? It is offered as a series of 18 internet-based interactive conferences, not canned Internet material, so you get a chance to interact with other students and the instructor. You also get to do it from the comfort of your home, or anywhere in the world, really, as long as you have an internet connection. The classes are on Monday and Thursday evenings, 19:30 to 21:00.
